Safety

We want YesNoMaybe to feel safe for everyone. Here's how we protect you, what isn't allowed, and how to get help.

How we keep things safe

  • Adults only. Every member must be 21 or older (or older where the law requires) and pass an age check before matching, paying, or swapping photos.
  • No strangers in your inbox. Chat only opens when you've both said yes.
  • You choose when to share photos. Nobody sees your face until you agree.
  • Your real name stays private. Your username is random. Share personal details only when you're ready.

Meeting someone in person

  • Meet in a public place, and tell a friend where you'll be.
  • Get yourself there and back.
  • Never send money or gift cards to someone you haven't met. That's the most common romance scam.
  • Trust your gut. It's fine to leave, block, or say No at any time.
  • For more, see the safety section of School.

What's not allowed

YesNoMaybe has zero tolerance for human trafficking, sex trafficking, and commercial sexual exploitation. Paid sex, escorting, and recruiting anyone for either are not allowed. Any profile, photo, or chat that looks like this is removed and the account is closed.

If you need help

If you're being pressured or forced into something, you are not in trouble with us for telling us. In the United States, call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 or visit humantraffickinghotline.org. If anyone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.

Reporting a profile, photo, or chat

Use the report button inside the app, or email legal@yesnomaybe.love. We review every report, remove anything that breaks these rules, and keep the related account, messages, photos, and sign-in records so they aren't deleted in normal cleanup.

We report suspected child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline. We refer suspected trafficking to the hotline and, where we can tell the location, to law enforcement. We may do this without telling the member, especially when someone could be seriously harmed.

For law enforcement

Please email legal@yesnomaybe.love from an official address. We respond to a valid subpoena, court order, search warrant, or preservation request that names the account or activity and says what is needed. Emergency requests (risk of death or serious injury, a missing person, or active exploitation) are handled first. We may ask for agency letterhead, a named contact, and the legal document. We never require the member who reported to deal with the agency themselves.
